Salman Khan: Fans want him to tie the knot in 2012

Salman Khan is 46 and pushing 50. An age where men are proud daddies, he has not even tied the knot. Yes, he has come close to getting married with some extremely serious relationships with a host of girls including Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif. But, till now, he has stayed away from walking the aisle. And surely, millions of female hearts will get shattered the day he does so.

But guess what? In an online poll, Salman has been chosen by fans as the star whom they want to see getting married this year (that’s to say before the world ends on 21.12.2012). The fans had some really big stars to choose from including Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Bipasha Basu and even Karan Johar. But such is the aura surrounding the eligibility of Salman, that he got overwhelming votes in his favour.

As much as 61% voters professed their wish to see the Bodyguard actor get into a nuptial knot. But we wonder if that’s even a likelihood given that he, right now, is in no serious relationship. There have been tongues wagging that he may be seeing Angela Johnsson, the hot model, but these are merely rumours and certainly Salman looks in no mood to settle down.

Not just fans but even co-stars like Aamir Khan and Akshaye Khanna have been pretty vocal about their desire to see Salman getting married. And coming to some other celebs, Saif and Kareena are very likely to get married this summer itself while John’s secretive marriage to Priya Runchal is already doing the rounds. Rani looks all set to marry friend Aditya Chopra while Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are doing their ‘vivaah’ on the first week of February.

But as for Salman, we wonder if he would ever get married……That will certainly be a big day for the entire country.
