Atharva awaits Bala’s nod to dub for MUK

Most of the leading heroes tend to curb their ‘starry airs’ and restrain themselves from throwing tantrums on the sets when they are to shoot on the sets under director Bala’s supervision. The no-nonsense character that he is, Bala pens his script first and then chooses the hero. As such, he doesn’t need to go after any particular hero reBala, who has directed big stars like Vikram and Suriya in films like Sethu, Nandha and Pithamagan, had his Avan Ivan releasing last week. The film presented actor Vishal in a hitherto unseen manner and gave the confidence to other producers and directors that Vishal, who had been doing only commercial flicks till that time, has the acting potential in him take on any role and do justice to it
For his next film titled Eriyum Thanal, Bala has roped in the lanky Atharva (son of late actor Murali) to play the lead role. Bala has made Atharva undergo a new hairstyle for his role in the film and has reportedly instructed him that the hairdo shouldn’t be ‘revealed’ neither to his friends and relatives nor to media-persons. For the past month or so, whenever he comes out, Atharva is spotted putting a cap on to cover up the ‘hair’.
Atharva, who debuted as hero with Baana Kathadi which released towards the end of 2010, has completed the shooting of his next film titled Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (MUK) directed by producer Elred Kumar. Even before Atharva could start the dubbing portion of MUK, the offer from Bala came through and he accepted it gleefully.
When the call from the MUK crew came inviting him to attend the dubbing session, Atharva doesn’t know how to open the topic with Bala and get his formal approval to stay away from the shoot of Eriyum Thanal for a few days to dub for his role in MUK.questing him to star in his film.
Trisha refuses to pair up with Sunil

Trisha Krishnan, one of the top actresses of South India, has refused to act opposite Sunil in the upcoming Telugu film Napoleon. The makers of the film recently approached her for the female lead role but she rejected the offer for the reasons best known to her.
Dil Raju, who is introducing SS Rajamouli's former assistant Koti as a director, met her along with him and offered the female lead role in Napoleon. But the actress, who was not impressed by it, turned down the offer. An industry insider says that it was expected, as she is one of the most sought after actress in South Indian film industries.
The makers of the film have started searching for another face. It is said that Deeksha Seth is also being considered for the leading lady role. Other details about the film are yet to be announced.
varalaxmi sarathkumar's next hero

With her Poda Podi taking forever for completion, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar seems to have realised that it's not prudent to pin her hopes on that movie if she wants to make a career in films. If speculations are to be believed, she has recently completed a photoshoot with Naga Chaitanya for a Telugu movie titled Gauravam.
Gauravam is a bilingual and will be directed by Radha Mohan. The movie will be produced by Chaitanya’s dad Nagarjuna for their home production Annapoorna Studios banner.

The actress who when producing a film in Kannada which had Divya Spandana in the lead had felt that more than movie production, acting was her passion and is all set to face the camera and be in the limelight again.

Divya Spandana in Vada Chennai?

While she may have debuted opposite Simbu in Kuthu, Divya Spandana got a new lease of life in K-Town with Vetrimaran's Polladhavan.
The actress, who has been away from the Tamil screens after the dismal Singam Puli, might make her return to Kollywood in Vetrimaran's Vada Chennai.
Coincidentally, this film stars Simbu, Divya's first Tamil hero, apart from Tollywood hunk Rana Daggubati and Andrea Jeremiah. When contacted, Divya said, "I've had discussions with Vetri sir. He's the most well-read director I've come across and writes good roles for his artists. We are good friends and have worked on Polladhavan together. I hope things work out just fine so that I'll be part of Vada Chennai." The actress' Tamil flick Kadhal 2 Kalyanam is yet to hit screens.
Meanwhile, director Vetrimaran said, "We are in talks with Divya, but nothing has been finalized as of yet." Vada Chennai is said to show the less-glamorous side of the city and is said to be Vetrimaran's pet project. He had a workshop with some of the cast and crew earlier this week and the film is expected to kickstart shortly.

Meanwhile, the Sivaji girl has Hero in Mollywood and Deepa Metha's Winds Of Change. Apart from a cameo in Saguni, looks like Shriya hasn't signed any plum projects in Kollywood though!

Resul's says, "I'm doing a few Tamil projects right now. Kollywood is definitely keeping me busy right now. I will also be part of Shankar's next film." When questioned about his being part of team Kochadiyaan, Resul says, "The film is yet to go on floors. Talks are in the initial stages. But, chances of me being part of the team cannot be ruled." Resul is upset about the bad quality of sound projection in the city screens. "What translates to the screens is only 40 per cent of the effort that an audio engineer puts in," says he.
Award for Thoonga Nagaram director
EMITAA is a non-profit social welfare organization in the UAE that aims to promote Tamil and the culture in the cyber world.
Set in the temple town of Madurai, Thoonga Nagaram is about a group of four callous friends (played by Vimal, Barani, Nishanth and Gaurav), whose lives undergo a drastic transformation after an incident. The film stars Anjali as the female lead.
The film, produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies, was released on February 4, 2011 and was a critical and commercial hit. Top comedian Vadivelu, who hails from Madurai, served as the narrator of the film.
Report card of success
It all started with Ghajini and A R Murugadoss in 2005. The Tamil film was a hit and very soon, the reticent director was headed to Mumbai to remake the movie with Aamir Khan. The end result - a Hindi blockbuster! Though his next, 7aum Arivu, was a damp squib, Bollywood is still eager to see how his Shah Rukh Khan movie, a reported remake of Ramana, will turn out. But he's not the only south director who's the toast of Bollywood today.
While numerous Kollywood directors are making steady inroads into Mumbai and are sought-after, they often come with an A+ report card in B-Town and an A- in K-Town.
Gautham Menon, for instance, made his entry into B-Town with the Hindi remake of his hit movie Minnale years back but Rehna Hain Tere Dil Mein fizzled at the box office. Now his attempt at remaking his hit Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya as Ekk Deewana Tha has raised the question has the movie got him a new lease in B-Town? Desperate as always for talent, Hindi film corporations are already talking of him remaking Vettaiyadu Vilayadu with a Bollywood superstar. Prabhu Deva is also another wanted man in Mumbai. His film Wanted with Salman Khan was one of the biggest blockbusters in Hindi cinema.
However, his two consecutive Tamil releases, Engeyum Kadhal and Vedi in 2011, left Kollywood cold. But Prabhu continues to be seen as a safe bet in Hindi. Great hopes are pinned on Rowdy Rathore that should come out in June 2012. Let's hope India's choreographerturned-filmmaker really gives Bollywood something to celebrate about. Another director who's trying to make it in Bollywood is Susi Ganesh.
Though he had a dismal Kandhaswamy with Vikram, he's currently remaking his hit film Thiruttu Payale in Hindi with Neil Nitin Mukesh. Lingusamy's Vettai has been declared a hit and he's now keen on remaking Paiyaa in Hindi possibly with Deepika and Ranbir. And one has to mention Siddique's Bodyguard which in Hindi broke BO records.
However, down South it was at best an average. But, of course, as we said earlier in Bollywood, you are as good as your last hit. So Siddique it is for some other Hindi superstar. Let's watch this space to see where he takes us next.
Kamal Haasan's verdict on Nanban

Ilayathalapathy Vijay organized a special show of Nanban for Kamal Haasan in a preview theatre in the city. And it is said that Kamal seemed to have enjoyed every bit of the movie that he saw and lauded the team's effort in making such a good entertainer. A source tells us that Kamal even congratulated the team for retaining the essence of a film like 3 Idiots and yet managing to bring in the local connect with the Kollywood audience. With such compliments from the Ulaganayagan, the team must definitely be delighted!

...or DOES he?

Salman-Katrina, off to Cuba!!

Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan are all set to leave for Cuba, to continue the shooting of Kabir Khan’s Film, Ek Tha Tiger. It’s a month long shooting schedule this time.
But why Cuba of all the places??
Well, if reports are to be believed, the weather in Cuba is pretty warm and so it will be safe and comfortable for the film’s actor Salman Khan to continue his work smoothly, considering his neurological condition.
A source close to the project says, “Salman’s neuro-condition which is not fully cured, was aggravated when he shot in the freezing cold in Ireland for the film some months ago. Kabir likes to shoot in difficult locations.”
It is also heard that Salman will be seen performing a few deadly stunts in the film and so having Katrina by his side, he should be safe.
Says a friend of the actress, “Their relationship has now gone to another level where he continues to look out for her, and she for him. While they’ll be shooting in Cuba she will be keeping an eye on his health.”
Katrina states, “I’ll be gone for quite a while. I’ve never been to Cuba before. It sounds exciting.”
Dhanush and Mallika Sherawat declared Hottest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2011

Kolaveri Di singer, who has turned international sensation, Dhanush and Bollywood beauty Mallika Sherawat have been announced as the ‘Hottest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2011’. Both are truly excited after getting awarded by PETA.
As per the reports, a huge number of people around thousands who cast their votes determine the leading winners of PETA India’s title. Other celebs included in the list were Vidya Balan, Sonu Sood, Shahid Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Kareena Kapoor.
After learning the news, Mallika uttered to the media that it was nice to win the title by PETA. She said that the best thing about being a vegetarian was my crystal clear conscience.
Dhanush said that he loved being a vegetarian and it kept him fit and healthy always.
Dhanuhs’ 3 has been making big noise in the media due to the popularity of the song ‘Kolaveri DI’ that turned a sensation in the world. Dhanush is starred opposite Shruti Haasan in the movie. Well, 3 is a numerical title and the title is getting much popular in the media. The popularity shot to fame among the industry as well that is the reason other filmmakers too came into the scene with the titles like this. Shyam is making his return in the films and he is coming back with the film ‘6’. Shyam sports an altogether different avatar for the movie.
Well, it is obvious that when a trend is strengthened, others are bound to follow and the same is happening in the south industry as well.
Dhanush, where he has been getting applauds for the song, has also been under controversies as he was recently roped in the romantic linkup with Shruti Haasan but his wife denied all the reports and Dhanush took a sigh of relief (seems so).
Priyamani is super excited and Mahesh Babu forgets wife’s birthday

Priyamani is on cloud nine. Why? The reason behind is that she is going to enact the main lead alongside her favorite actor Mohanlal. Priya is essaying the role in Mohanlal’s Grandmaster. She started off filming last week and is in Kochi these days where she is to doll up the rest of the sequences of the movie. Mohanlal is busy these days with other project rather than the film currently. Well, he is playing the Celebrity Cricket League.
Well, no matter if Mohanlal is not filming, Priya is giving her shots for the movie. She is playing an important character in the film that is about a criminal lawyer. In this film, the gorgeous beauty is sporting a modern wardrobe of desi casual dresses. Apart from this movie, she is also finishing the shooting for her Kannada movie, Anna Bond. Priya is enjoying the success of the Kannada flick ‘Ko Ko’.
On the other hand, we have learnt that Mahesh Babu, who is enjoying the success of his current release ‘Businessman’, has forgotten his wife’s birthday. His wife is a former actress and beauty queen Namarta Shirodker. Mahesh wrote on micro blogging site that he forgot wife’s birthday in his quite busy schedules. He said sorry to wife on the site and wished her as well.
Businessman has been receiving super response from the audiences and the collections from the box office show that the movie is going superhit. It has been learnt and the reports reveal that Mahesh Babu’s Business has broken the records. The sources say that the makers of the film are now planning a the sequel to the film. And seeing the response from the audiences, it appears that the masses too would like to watch the sequel to the film. Let’s wait and see if the sequel is announced.
Ranbir Kapoor on erotic movies

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has always been a candid guy and he certainly has no qualms about talking of taboo stuff like porn. He was recently quizzed by the media on whether he likes to watch the kind of erotic films (the B-grade movies of Bollywood like Junglee Jawaani and Jungle mein Mangal as he did in ‘Rockstar’), he was quick to admit that he was game for it. While other actors would have been diplomatic and shy about it, Ranbir was outspoken and honest in his confession that he has grown up watching such semi-porn flicks.
“In fact, I grew up on Junglee Jawaani. Guess I realised I was a man when I started going for those kind of films,” is what he said. Surely, the actor’s candidness and brutal honesty stumped the media personnel.
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif has found a new partner. No, we are not referring to a dating partner but to a singing partner. Katrina, who knows a thing or two about music, is all set to record an album with Ali Zafar, her co-star of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. Ali, as you may be aware, is already a pop star and has a flair for both music as well as acting. Reportedly, it was him who provoked Katrina into exploring her music talent and go for an album. However, thanks to her hectic shooting schedules, the princess of popcorn hadn’t got time to chase her music dreams.
But now it seems like Kat and Ali are gearing up enthusiastically to floor all music lovers with their own brand of music. Reportedly, Ali has already composed some songs and has even got Kat’s approval about them. All is now left is for Katty to record them.
However, the two are keeping mum about the project but we can surely wait for our beloved Katrina to add another feather to her heavily-laden cap.
Salman Khan: Fans want him to tie the knot in 2012

But guess what? In an online poll, Salman has been chosen by fans as the star whom they want to see getting married this year (that’s to say before the world ends on 21.12.2012). The fans had some really big stars to choose from including Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Bipasha Basu and even Karan Johar. But such is the aura surrounding the eligibility of Salman, that he got overwhelming votes in his favour.
As much as 61% voters professed their wish to see the Bodyguard actor get into a nuptial knot. But we wonder if that’s even a likelihood given that he, right now, is in no serious relationship. There have been tongues wagging that he may be seeing Angela Johnsson, the hot model, but these are merely rumours and certainly Salman looks in no mood to settle down.
Not just fans but even co-stars like Aamir Khan and Akshaye Khanna have been pretty vocal about their desire to see Salman getting married. And coming to some other celebs, Saif and Kareena are very likely to get married this summer itself while John’s secretive marriage to Priya Runchal is already doing the rounds. Rani looks all set to marry friend Aditya Chopra while Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are doing their ‘vivaah’ on the first week of February.
But as for Salman, we wonder if he would ever get married……That will certainly be a big day for the entire country.
Isha Koppikar says she can dance better than Katrina Kaif

from Bollywood scene and hardly seen there in movies these days, has shown her jealously over none other than the top notch Bollywood actress and item number specialist Katrina Kaif. Isha’s focus for jealousy is Katrina’s item song ‘Chikini Chameli’. Koppikar has claimed that she can do far better than Katrina Kaif.
Seems a new catfight is going to happen now between Isha and Katrina. Isha has ignited the flame and now it is Katrina’s turn to catch the flame to throw it back to Koppikar.
Actresses’ throwing nasty comments on each other is quite common in Bollywood and since it is woman’s nature to feel jealous of other women, Bollywood’s women are not the exception – they too are women. Isha Koppikar is not able to swallow the popularity of Katrina and in particular the fame she has been receiving in return of Chikini Chameli has been disturbing Ms. Isha a lot.
Isha recently performed at an event where she danced on ‘Komdi Pallai’ where she claimed that the original number is far better than Kaif’s Chikni Chameli. Koppikar has also been uttering it to people that she could have dolled up this item number far better than Katrina Kaif, if given a chance.
She says that she track seems much better in Marathi. She mentioned that she when got to listen the song, she found that the original was much better than the Hindi version. She then uttered that Katrina did better in the song but had she given the chance, she would have showed her class far better than Katrina Kaif.
Previously Rakhi Sawant has alleged Katrina Kaif of copying her dance style in Chikini Chameli. Katrina has been the victim of unpleasant comments by the Bollywood women since the day the song got popular among masses. Katrina is really an intelligent actress who maintains silence and this is what makes her sailing through steadily and successfully.

Hosanna, A.R. Rahman’s song lands in trouble

The Christian Secular Forum (CSF) has not take this mater lightly and they have demanded a public apology along with deleting the word “Hosanna” from the entire song. They also added that the song has hurt the feelings of Christina and Jews so they have demanded an apology by sending an email to composer AR Rahman, Javed Akhtar the lyricist and all those related to Fox Star Studio and Sony Music. The Christian Secular Forum (CSF) has even threatened to move to court against Fox Star Studios and Sony Music and have even decided to lodge a police complaint. However amidst such controversy one could hardly get any comments from the makers of the movie.

Choosing Theatrical Over VOD, Sundance Midnight Title 'Black Rock' Chooses LD Distribution

I’ve heard several distributors chased this, including Gold Circle, Lionsgate, Magnolia and IFC. This is the third deal for Submarine in the last two days, after The Queen of Versailles to Magnolia and Searching for Sugar Man went to Sony Pictures Classics.
Magnolia Buying ‘The Queen Of Versailles’: Sundance

The Queen Of Versailles focuses on the odyssey of timeshare magnate David Siegel and his 30-years younger wife Jackie. Riding high, they decided at the peak of their wealth to build Versailles, a 90,000-square-foot home that would have been the largest in America. Modeled after the Palace of Versailles, the plans included an indoor ice skating rink and 10 kitchens. When the 2008 economic collapse hit, their plans were dashed and they struggled to live like the unwashed masses. The docu caused a stir here when David Siegel sued Sundance for a catalog description of him as a rags-to-riches-to-rags story. He might be on shaky legal ground as those who’ve seen the movie said that those words come right out of his mouth. Lauren Greenfield (Thin) directed it, and while David Siegel wasn’t at yesterday’s screening Jackie was. Also present were several producers, and there could be a remake rights deal in the offing.
Pic is an Evergreen Pictures production, produced by Greenfield, Danielle Renfrew Behrens, Frank Evers and Dan Cogan. Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles said the film “brilliantly encapsulates the salient issues of the American economic downturn, while also being one of the jaw-droppingly entertaining films I’ve seen in a very long time. Lauren Greenfield is an exceptionally talented filmmaker with a wonderfully humanistic touch, and she has found a truly magnetic, charismatic star in Jackie Siegel.”
Magnolia’s Dori Begly made the deal with Submarine’s Josh Braun and David Koh. TV rights are being shopped as we speak.

In Stay Close, a past crime returns to devastate the lives of a photojournalist, a suburban mother with a hidden past, and a homicide detective obsessed with a series of unsolved disappearances. The Hitchcockian thriller plunges all three into a dark world of sex, secrets and shocking violence.
Both Coben and Kasdan told me that they expect to have a script ready by the time the book is published. It’s not the usual way a book by a big author like Coben is brokered. But despite the fact his last four novels debuted atop The New York Times Bestseller list, the only movie adaption of Coben’s work was 2006’s Tell No One, and that was a French film directed by Guillaume Canet. It wasn’t until after that film’s success that Warner Bros acquired remake rights, with Ben Affleck attached to direct. All Coben’s books have been optioned repeatedly, only to languish in development hell.
“Everybody told me I was crazy to make that deal with Guillaume, but in hindsight I was enormously lucky,” Coben told me. “That book was optioned first by Mike Ovitz’s AMG, which maybe was a kiss of death, and then Sony tried before the rights came back to me and this crazy young French guy came along with great ideas and a plan to set the film in France. Every one of my books has either been optioned or is under option, and it seems to me that this situation with Larry isn’t much different than an option deal where a producer gets somebody to acquire, then has a script written and then something goes wrong.”
Kasdan told me that after he made Darling Companion, which was stylistically reminiscent of his film The Big Chill, he wanted a potboiler reminiscent of his earlier film Body Heat. “Harlan and I met at a conference organized by Jeff Bezos, and we just hit it off,” Kasdan said. “I’d read a couple of his books, and after asking him why they hadn’t been made into his movies, he told me his tale of woe, of having everything optioned and developed to death. We agreed to look through his stuff, and he said, I just finished a book today, do you want to read it? I think it’s the most adaptable of his books, with a tight plot and strong characters. We’ll have the script ready by March, and at that point we’ll see who salutes. When you boil Harlan’s fiction to its core, it’s intensity, momentum and tension and this will be a medium budget sexy and violent film.”
Coben is represented by the Aaron Priest Literary Agency for publishing and WME for features. CAA reps Kasdan.
Tribute To Spielberg At PGA
Steven Tyler National Anthem Rendition: An Epic Fail?
"Steven Tyler far more obscene than Janet Jackson's t*tty," Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock Tweeted of the rendition, comparing it to another famous, scandalous moment in NFL playoff lore.
Was the song really that abysmal? Decide for yourself:

Trisha says that she will be dubbing for Samaran in her own voice

The film Kaavalan which had Vijay and Asin in the lead roles was remade in Telugu with the title Body Guard
This film which has Venkatesh and Trisha in the lead roles has been released recently and is doing well at the box office.
It is understood that laurels are heaped on Trisha for her wonderful acting in this film. Trisha while speaking about this said, "Only once in a way a good story comes my way.
I liked the story of the Telugu film Body Guard very much. My role was splendid because I was able to bring out my feelings. I am getting lots of appreciations for my good acting in this film.
I have compared with the yester year senior actresses like Savithri and Soundarya. I feel it is a great honor for me to be compared with them. Both these actresses were stalwarts in the film industry.
So I don’t think it is appropriate for me to be compared with these stalwarts. In the recent times, this is the good role which I had acted in a Telugu film.
I am getting good roles there. In Mankatha, I have dubbed in my own voice. I will also be dubbing for Samaran in which I am pairing with Vishal."
Thangar to make short-film on Thane storm
Cinematographer-turned-director Thangar happens to be a native of Cuddalore District. As such, he felt so devastated by the tragedy which struck the people with whom he had grown with and mingled all along his life. Thangar is taking special care to oversee the relief and rehabilitation measures that are provided by the Govt. and other bodies for the affected populace.
Thangar is also going on the television media quite often to speak about the tragedy and to raise awareness among the general public requesting them to donate liberally to mitigate the suffering of their brethren. He met press-persons recently. During the course of his interaction with the journos, he revealed that he had made a short film on the tragedy.
“It’s not merely a storm-struck locality; what had occurred was a disaster of worst proportions. I stayed for 3 full days amid the people and collected all the details of the losses suffered by them including agricultural property and other damages. I have recorded them in the form of a short-film which would stand testimony to the untold suffering the people were made to endure.
“I’m sure the authorities haven’t conveyed about the gravity of the situation to Amma who has a kind heart to reach out to the public. There is no drinking water, milk or electricity or ration ships in these localities but the State-owned TASMAC shops are wide open. I wonder how it happened. I appeal to the Govt. to speed up the rehabilitation measures,” said Thangar.
Vadivelu claims he'll be back

The almost-forgotten comedian Vadivelu has put up a brave face indeed. The comedian, who was an integral part of almost every second film hitting the screens not so long ago, hasn’t had a release in almost 10 months except for Prashanth’s Mambattiyan and Ramarajan’s Medhai. Both the films, which released in a space of few weeks, were launched more than two years ago and had been lying unreleased for a long time.
Vadivelu’s bad spell started in the run-up to last year’s April Assembly elections in the State when he campaigned extensively for DMK, the erstwhile ruling party, and its allies. As it turned out later, the DMK was routed in a historical verdict given by the people. As such, Vadivelu’s position became untenable as he couldn’t go back to DMK nor seek friendly ‘atmosphere’ in AIADMK.
Apparently not to irk the present day ruler, not many producers and directors are willing to cast Vadivelu in their films. This has resulted in an ‘unofficial’ boycott of the comedian who hasn’t signed up any film for the past several months. Vadivelu, who appeared in a Natham Court in connection with a ‘violation’ case filed against him by the Election Commission, spoke to newsmen outside the Court.
“I shall continue to act in films what else would I do At present, I’m playing a hero in a new film and have utilized the gap in a meaningful manner to prepare for the role. The hiatus is a planned one on my part (?!) ..I shall continue to act I’ll always be there to entertain the people. I don’t want to say anything about the present political situation,” said Vadivelu.
When asked to comment about rumours of him willing to align with the ruling AIADMK, Vadivelu said that he can’t reply to skeptic questions.
Daniel Balaji plays the lead role in Marumugam

Actor Daniel Balaji hadn’t been spotted much in Tamil films in the year which just slipped by. Many would agree that the actor’s last noteworthy performance was when he played Kishore’s younger brother in Dhanush’s Polladhavan. Though he starred in a few more films after that, he hasn’t able to deliver a telling performance in any of them.
Balaji, who played villain to Kamal in Gautham Menon’s Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, now gets to play the lead role in an upcoming film titled Marumugam which would be directed by newcomer Kamal. The film is produced by a new production house titled ‘Entertainment Unlimited’. Newcomer Ranya is paired opposite Balaji in the film. Anoop of Chikku Bhukku fame plays the second hero in the film.
Though new to Tamil, Kamal has already penned the story and screenplay of an award-winning Malaysian film titled 12 Hours. Balaji, who also played the lead role in Muthirai a few years back along with Nitin Sathya, gets to play the lead role this time with Anoop. Mumbai-based stunner Ranya is sure to give sleepless nights to Tami youths, it is said. The crew says that she not only possesses killer looks but also has some acting potential.
The triangular love-story involving the trio of Balaji, Anoop and Ranya has been narrated in an interesting by Kamal who says that “Every man has a hidden ‘face’ which doesn’t always display his ‘inner instincts’ and desires. The ‘hidden face’ of Balaji’s character in the film is sure to be a surprise to the actor’s fans. The character has the potential to terrorize the movie-goers, he adds.
Banuchander and Uma Padmanabhan play important roles in the film which is cinematographed by Kanagaraj and ha smusic by Agasthiya, a popular music director in Telugu who would be debuting in Tamil with this film.
Deepika Padukone

Last year Deepika Padukone had two releases to her name (AARAKSHAN andDESI BOYZ) which was far lesser than five of her films that had released a year ago. This year is seemingly lighter again, what with only two confirmed releases (COCKTAIL and RACE 2) in the pipeline though there are chances of YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI arriving as well. What's common though amongst these films is that each of these brings her back in the glamorous zone. For someone who did experimental films like AARAKSHAN and KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE, it seems she has made a conscious call to apply break on such genres and do some out and out commercial films.
"Honestly, I don't like to segregate films like commercial, middle of the road, art house, new age etc.," says Deepika, "I don't wish to tell audience either to leave their brains behind or bring them along. Come on, a film is a film after all. It's only in India where segregation around commercial and art takes place."
Deepika stuns all in backless attire at Screen Awards
Still, she isn't looking the other way when it comes to acknowledging the commercial viabilities of her films."Of course I am conscious of that," says Deepika, "At the end of the day I am an entertainer and I should be able to entertain the audience in all films that I do. I do understand that there are certain kind of films that are appreciated only by niche audience while there are others which appeal to a larger number. The idea is to mix and match."
Well lady, as long as we can have the ultra glam Deepika entertaining on screen, we won't mind.
Kareena Kapoor rejects SRK's Movie offer

Everyone must be aware of the recent film Ra.One of King Shahrukh Khan. The film industry as well as the people expected rather a grand presentation from King Khan while it had saddened the audience because of its poor performance. Matter of fact it was a high budget film spending 145 core as per the report.
Shah Rukh made a huge marketing towards his film promotion. To make it a super hit box office film he had invested time in addition to his best efforts. Even he brought Akon supposed to be a singer of international fame to India in recent days.
However, at the end of the day Shahrukh became aggrieved in after getting such a bad response to his dream project Ra.One. Nevertheless, King is always the king. Shah Rukh plans for flooring the next succession of Ra.one very shortly. In Ra one he chose the scorching and demanding actress Kareena Kapoor who is equally busy now towards filming of her next coming film.
The media informs that Shah Rukh again wanted Kareena for signing in his next series of Ra.one while the top actress has rejected his offer this time. King is a bit disappointed on this issue. However, he is looking for some other face in place of Kareena. Let us hope all the best for Shahrukh.
Expect A ‘Jab We Met’ From Kareena Kapoor In EMAET

Less than a month remains for the release of EK MAIN AUR EKK TU and debutant director Shakun Batra is confident that just like other Kareena Kapoor starrers, his debut film too would benefit immensely from the presence of an actress of her caliber.
”I know for sure that people would appreciate her performance. She has put a lot of her in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU. In fact this is one of the few scripts which she has read more than twice because she wanted to do something more in the film and grab the nuances well. If I look at the film objectively as a director as well as a member of the audience, I see this as one of her better performances,” says Shakun.
Since the film is set in contemporary times with an urban set up to it, one wonders whether it would risk turning out to be a caricature affair with characters that come across as a tad stereotyped.
”See, the thing is that today many of us moviegoers stay in urban cities,’ reasons Shakun, ‘We dress in a certain way and people around us have seen an urban upbringing too. Yes, filmmakers tend to stereotype urban atmosphere but if we try hard, we can write such characters in 100 different ways. This is exactly the case in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU as well. Yes, it is a romcom with definite Western sensibilities to it. However for the Indian audience, it is going to be a unique experience for sure.”
We just hope that the promise is indeed kept once this Karan Johar production releases all over on 10th February.
Hrithik Feels Very Comfortable With Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is one of those very few Bollywood actresses who have a great equation with their co-stars, especially male counterparts. After Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor it’s Hrithik Roshan with whom the swanky actress shares a great rapport.
Hrithik and Priyanka first came together in KRRISH and now the duo are all set to scorch the screen with their sizzling chemistry in upcoming film AGNEEPATH, which is produced by Karan Johar.
Hrithik is all praise for co-star and friend Piggy Chops. “She is a very special person and a great co-star to work with. I am very comfortable working with her. She is like a live wire on the sets. She is full of enthusiasm and it is very good to be full of positivity,” says Hrithik
Also starring Sanjay Dutt AGNEEPATH is scheduled to release on 26th January 2012.
Vidya Balan To Sizzle In An Item Song In Ferrari Ki Sawaari

Following the huge success of her last film THE DIRTY PICTURE, Vidya Balan is preparing to take her ‘Ooh La La’ tag to newer heights with her very first item song in the Rajesh Mapuskar directed FERRARI KI SAWAARI, under the banner of Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films.
Vidya is expected to go ultra-glamorous in the item song. The item song is expected to be a major part of the film. The choreographer is still undecided though the shoots are expected to commence in early February 2012.
The movie FERRARI KI SAWAARI has become the movie of firsts. This is not only Rajesh Mapuskar’s directorial debut, but Sharman Joshi will also play the lead role for the very first time in this movie. And of course, we will get to see Vidya grooving in her very first item number.
What remains to be tested is whether the theory of first’s works for them!
Asin's wish-list on Rajinikanth's film

Asin Thottumkal has been waiting for a good script to make her comeback to Tamil films since a long time. The actress, who kept herself busy in Bollywood after Kaavalan, had told before that she would return if any script comes her way. Now, the Ghajini gal, just like other actresses, has expressed her wish to act in superstar Rajinikanth's movie.
Recently, there were reports that Asin was also one of the contenders to play female lead in Rajinikanth's next movie Kochadaiyaan. Reacting to this, she said, “I wish to work with Rajini... If I come across a good project I will certainly act (opposite him)." However, a section of people have raised their voices claiming that they object a Kerala girl acting in Tamil movie due to the ongoing Mullaperiyar Dam row.
Meanwhile, the makers of Kochadaiyaan have signed Sneha to play a key role in the forthcoming Tamil movie. The movie marks the directorial debut of Soundarya Rajinikanth.
